While modern refrigerants used in integrated heat pump units, such as R454B and R290, offer improved energy efficiency, they also introduce potential safety hazards due to their flammability.

To mitigate these risks, the Access control system (version 5.4 and later) includes advanced functions for detecting refrigerant leaks and preventing the accumulation of hazardous concentrations of flammable gas mixtures.

Depending on the refrigerant type, 2 or 4 gas sensors are installed to monitor for refrigerant leaks. If a leak is detected, a gas evacuation mode is automatically activated to remove the gas safely.
